 July 28, 2021 / Chicago, IL - Chicago-based nonprofit Revolution Workshop will host their annual fundraiser Craft Beer for Craftspeople on Thursday, September 23, 2021, in-person at Midwest Coast Brewing. Revolution Workshop (RW) is a nonprofit social enterprise that builds skills, hope, and resilience in Chicago’s underserved neighborhoods by providing free pre-apprenticeship construction job training and placement to unemployed individuals. “Revolution Workshop is a true connector in our community," says Manny Rodriguez, RW’s Executive Director. “We provide free construction job training to people who haven’t had a lot of opportunities in life. And we bring them together with our second customer—our network of 100+ employer partners in the industry. So, not only are we helping community members find a career that lifts their families out of poverty, but we’re also providing an important pipeline of diverse talent to a sector that’s facing an acute shortage.”
Rodriguez noted that RW had to cancel this fundraiser last year due to COVID-19, which was a tough blow to the young organization. “We’re ecstatic that we can finally gather all of our supporters to celebrate the impact we’ve had together—and also celebrate our third anniversary!” Tickets to Craft Beer for Craftspeople are $25 and include one beer and a selection of food. The evening will be rounded out by a raffle, a live auction, and a program featuring graduates and partners sharing their powerful stories.
